Lavender Noire Archiving Project Preserves Black Queer Histories

Our Chicago-based grassroots archiving project is dedicated to meticulously recording and preserving the rich tapestry of Black queer histories. By actively collecting and documenting these often marginalized narratives, we aim to ensure that the voices and experiences of Black LGBTQ+ individuals are not only remembered but celebrated and respected for generations to come.

Through our efforts, we seek to shine a light on the invaluable contributions and struggles of the Black queer community, affirming their presence in the broader historical landscape.
